The Maison du Platin is a museum which will help you discover the origins and traditional activities of the Île de Ré, the Ré – Continent connections but also the habitats and costumes.
On four exhibition levels, you can discover the island’s traditional activities such as fishing, oyster farming, ship models, agriculture, costumes… treasure hunts are also offered to entertain the children.
Guided tours are organized by the house: discovery of oyster farming and oyster beds, the village of La Flotte, the Châteliers abbey.
The opening hours are as follows:
April, May, June and September
Monday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Sat., Sun. and public holidays: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
October
Monday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. to
5 p.m. Sat., Sun. and public holidays: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
July and August
Monday to Friday : 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sat.
